Hello, I’m Minsi Rucker, and this is my husband, Nick. We have been clients of Ian Howe’s for 15 years and have been with him and Druthers since it started.
Nick
We decided that we needed financial advice because we weren’t sure where we were financially, and we certainly didn’t have a clue when we could do things like retire. We have children going through private school, so we have some quite significant outgoings, and we needed somebody to help us get our heads around where we were financially.
Minsi
Nick and Ian had worked together for quite a long time before Ian set up Druthers, and Ian was somebody who really explained things in such a good basic way that it helped me to understand stuff that I’m not used to dealing with at all. I think Nick knew that Ian would be a really good person to help me to be able to not sit there and go, “I’ve no idea what’s going on; I’m just not interested, and just walk away from it.” Ian’s been brilliant because he’s been very helpful in breaking it down and simplifying it so that I understand what’s going on.

I feel that Ian has a very similar outlook on life with his family and what his children have been through with schooling. So, he understood exactly what it was that we wanted and what we needed. I felt that because he was in that similar situation, he was able to understand what we needed from our lives going forward.
Nick
He’s always there to discuss issues, challenges, or opportunities that arise. He’s brilliant at stopping us from doing things that we shouldn’t and getting us to look at the bigger picture when it comes to our finances and what we’re trying to achieve as a family. So, for me, it’s not really about the investment and the technical stuff; it’s about the soft skills that he brings to the relationship that are second to none.
Minsi
Ian is just a really lovely guy; he makes me feel very relaxed about the whole process. It’s something that normally I would slightly dread, but he’s so reassuring; he explains it thoroughly and really clearly, and as a result, I just feel that we’re being looked after well.
Nick
For me, the best thing about working with Ian is that I know he completely understands our situation, he’s got our back, and we have a plan that we can change if necessary at any given time. He’s very approachable and forgiving with all our idiocy and foolishness and he’s just a great guy to be able to bounce ideas off of.
Minsi
The three words that I would choose to describe Ian would be proactive, caring, and funny because he makes it fun.
Nick
I couldn’t recommend Ian more highly, to be honest. He’s such a lovely guy; he’s great to work with; he’s brilliant at his job; and I trust him implicitly.
